Baptist Health Hardin
Dr. Srikala Ramaswamy (Dr. Ram) is a diagnostic radiologist at Baptist Health Hardin. She received her medical training at University of Texas medical school and New York Medical College after which she completed radiology residency in 2000 from University of Louisville.
She joined University of Louisville hospitals as associate professor in the Radiology Department and soon after joined Radiology Associates at Baptist Health Hardin in 2001 where she has been practicing diagnostic radiology to date. She was Chief of Radiology from 2013-2014. Her practice interests include invasive radiology and women’s imaging.
Dr. Ram, her husband, Dr. Krishnan Challappa a cardiologist with Central Cardiology Associates in Elizabethtown, and their two daughters have called Hardin County home for more than a decade.
While practicing at Baptist Health Hardin was reason enough for her to serve on the board of the Baptist Health Foundation Hardin, Dr. Ram says it goes beyond that.
“This is our community. We not only work here. We live here, and Baptist Health Hardin is our health care provider”
In fact, when Dr. Ram’s daughter was very young, she had a serious respiratory issue. It was the team at Baptist Health Hardin who took care of her child.
“Your child is sick and you’re afraid and then there are these wonderful doctors taking care of her. That always stays with you. We are so thankful there was a place like this in our community…By doing this I’m giving back something in return.”
