The Baptist Health Hardin Medical Group announced this week the addition of Dr. Brian Price, M.D., an interventional cardiologist, to the Baptist Health Hardin Central Cardiology Associates team.
According to a news release, interventional cardiologists study for years to obtain additional training in treating cardiovascular diseases through procedures that predominantly use catheters, such as angioplasty and stenting.
Thomas Hustead, M.D., medical director of the medical group, called the hiring of Price a significant advancement for Baptist Health Hardin’s cardiology service line.
“Baptist Health Hardin continues to raise the bar, and can rival any of the metro hospitals with the addition of Dr. Price to the Baptist Health Hardin Medical Group,” Hustead said in the release. “The care provided by an interventional cardiologist like him means that Baptist Health Hardin can now offer minimally invasive cardio procedures – in addition to angioplasty and stenting – such as percutaneous valve repair, embolic protection, and atherectomies. Patients no longer need to drive to Louisville for this critical care.”
Price also will provide patients with cardiology services with a special focus on catheter-based treatment of heart diseases, including the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, vascular disease and acquired structural heart disease.
“I am so pleased to join Baptist Health Hardin’s growing cardiology program,” Price said in the release. “Baptist Health Hardin has shown its dedication to offering patients the very best. Together we will do great things to add cutting-edge cardiac services right here in our own community.”
